Waterloo-Fulmore SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Purpose of the Scholarship Program:
The Waterloo-Fulmore Scholarship Program is designed to support educational opportunities of students in the neighborhood of Waterloo School by providing need-and-merit-based scholarships to students who matriculate from Fulmore Middle School so they can attend Waterloo School from 9th-12th grade.
Scholarship Program Overview: The scholarship program covers tuition and fees for each year the recipient maintains a 3.0 GPA, maintains regular attendance, and whose conduct and relations contributes to the health of the school community.
Funding of the Scholarship Program: Private donations
Program size: Starting for class of 2023, 3 students.
Non-discrimination: Waterloo School admits students of any race, color, religious affiliation, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students of the school. Waterloo does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religious affiliation, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, tuition assistance policies, fine arts, athletic, or any other school-administered programs.
Selection process: The selection committee is comprised of the teaching staff of Waterloo School. They will review applications, letters of recommendation, and middle school report cards to determine the best candidate to interview for the scholarship. A student and parent interview is a required final step in the process. The application may be completed on-line or downloadable as a pdf.
Conditions for maintaining scholarship: maintain a visible commitment to growth and academic progress towards college readiness through regular attendance, attitude, and B average academic achievement.
Support for Scholars: transportation, lunch, college advising, test prep, enrichment, opportunities, mentoring, etc.
Waterloo School is a Christian, college-prep, private high school for Austin that integrates academics and city engagement, mentoring students to become whole people, in relationships, in Christ.
A Waterloo Scholar is committed to our four-year program grounded in experiential learning, project-based academics, internships, and personal formation. Waterloo will support students and families as they transition into high school and as they progress through high school into college. Waterloo scholars will receive SAT/ACT preparation and college counseling, as well as mentorship and guidance to transition smoothly into college.
Qualifications to be a Waterloo Fulmore Scholar:
Will be the first-generation college graduates

Application Checklist and Timeline
1. Complete and submit the Waterloo Scholarship application by June 7th found here: https://waterlooschool.typeform.com/to/dLxSgL
Part 1: Parent Application to be filled out by parent/guardian
Part 2: Student Application to be filled out by student. Before completing the student application, have the following items ready to upload:

- Names and emails of two teachers for letters of recommendations
- Name and email of one personal reference for letter of recommendation
- 7th grade STAAR score report
- 7th grade final report card
- 8th grade progress reports or report cards
- 2-3 paragraph personal essay. Essay prompt: Who are you as a person (interests, hobbies, extracurricular activities)? What kind of person do you want to become in the next 10-15 years? How will you achieve these goals? Describe in detail what your life will be like in the future. Why is graduating from college important to you? (.doc, .pdf, .pages formats accepted)
2. After reviewing all completed applications, Waterloo School will invite qualified candidates to an interview.
